Artificial Insemination
Farming Image

Artificial Insemination (AI) is a proven, science‑based technique aimed at improving herd genetics, enhancing milk yield, controlling disease spread, and reducing breeding costs. It enables precise selection of superior bulls without the need to maintain them on farm.

Operational Area
1. Area of Operation

Our AI services are currently operational across priority districts where < 50% AI coverage exists, targeting all breedable cattle and buffalo within these zones. Special focus is given to underserved rural and aspirational districts identified under the National AI Programme

2. Service Delivery Model
  • • Doorstep Extension: Certified Artificial Insemination Technicians (AITs / MAITRIs) are deployed to farmers’ homes to perform AI procedures and capture on-site data
  • • Mobile-based Records: AITs use mobile applications to log key events (AI performed, pregnancy check, calving). This replaces manual registers, enhances transparency, and enables real-time tracking.
  • • SMS Notifications: Farmers and field staff receive automated alerts for insemination appointments, pregnancy diagnostics (at ~2.5 months), and calving updates.
3. Step‑by‑Step Process
  • • Farmer requests AI service via call-center or local cooperative society.
  • • Technician receives job on mobile app and visits the farm.
  • • AI procedure is performed; details updated on app immediately.
  • • Pregnancy is checked after ~2.5 months; result entered via app.
  • • Calving info (date, sex of calf) is logged post-birth, enabling subsequent livestock health planning such as deworming and vaccination.
4. Animal Nutrition Support
  • • Guidance on balanced diets, fodder management, and feed supplements
  • • Promotion of natural and locally available feed solutions
5. Artificial Insemination (AI) Services
  • • Improved breed development through AI in cattle and buffalo
  • • Training and awareness programs on reproductive health
6. Training & Capacity Building for Farmers
  • • Animal care workshops and demonstrations
  • • Distribution of animal health guides in local languages
